work has been incredibly boring. =/ but now they want us to log our hours and what we do! ack! does icq and e-mail count as 'general administration'? ;) it's a good thing they didn't start this a few weeks ago. i swear i'd spent the time picking my ass. even reading the news is not enough to keep my time occupied. you would think reading and watching news about sept 11th would have numbed me by now, but my eyes water everytime it's on. they maybe the same stories over and over again, but it's just too sad. lately the news has been quite depressing hasn't it? i just found out today that mr. dressup had passed away yesterday after a stroke. :( i used to watch his show all the time when i was young. back in the kacey and finnigan days. *Sigh* and then news of some virus, nimda, a follow up to the "code red" worm, has been rapidly circulating the web. turns out it had hit my NT box and it's IIS web server this morning. that's just fan-friggen-tastic. which gives even more reason for us Sun people to boycott microsoft. but i could never do that haha. i'm no unix/solaris guru. anyway, on the topic of viruses, i saw something really freaky on one of those 'inside edition'-type shows today. it reported finding dead animals near bin laden's HQ suggesting that it's possible that he maybe preparing for biological or chemical warfare. i'm not sure how valid this information is. isn't he supposed to be under custody now or something? but.. damn, imagine... just one spray from an aerosol can infected with some deadly virus killing a hundred people. or maybe sending over a mad-cow-like disease to destroy our food supplies. this man is insane, i tell you.

age did a lil research. the nostradamus quote below that's been circulating is a HOAX. it is no where to be found in his writings.

before heading to bed i was exposed to some frightening theories brought up from this tragedy in America. i'm sure many have recieved some sort of message, whether through icq or e-mail, about Nostradamus's prophecies of World War III.

In the City of God (NY) there will be a great thunder, (WTC collaspes)
Two brothers torn apart by Chaos, (WTC twin towers)
While the fortress endures, (the US)
The great leader will succumb (person responsible)
The third big war will begin when the big city is burning (NY)
- Nostradamus 1654

confusion and fear built up inside lead me to research it on the web. i'm not too sure i believe in nostradamus's predictions ( they are vague, indirect and open to different interpretations. who knows, maybe the terrorists acted just so the prophecy would be fulfilled ) but all this discussion of war soon lead to ideas of the anti-Christ and Christ's return. it generated a fear so strong the room started to spin. i don't know what to believe. Christ's return so soon? it can't be. i haven't lived my life yet. but i ask myself, "am i ready?". definitely not. and that's what scares me most.

i can't believe all this has happened. it's all so unreal, like something out of a movie. i was supposed to go to the world trade center a few weeks ago on my trip to NYC and now i may never have that chance to again. i can't imagine what the people of manahattan are going through right now. thousands of innocent lives lost on the plane, in the buildings, and the firemen who died helping. how could anyone wish for such destruction and death? i watched the news in disgust as they showed the people of afghanistan(sp?) and baghdad shooting guns into the air in celebration.

this could mean war.

omg... the states are under attack!!!!!!!!!!!

world trade center hit by 2 hijacked planes!!! pentagon hit by plane!!!! US spy plane shot down!!!! washington mall bombed?!? plane crash in pittsburg?! and now they're sending the international flights to Canada!

hey check this out! this is very cool. one of my fellow co-workers here at Sun micro put together this website with a few friends. all you downtown co op folk might be seeing the poster ads for the website soon! it's called Just Books. It's a nifty little search engine for textbooks and lists all the possible bookstores (Universities, Amazon, Chapters etc..) and their prices! what an awesome idea!! great for saving money! never again will i be ripped off by UW! ;)

today was my first day of work at Sun Microsystems. showed up bright and early only to wait 45 min for my manager to actually come in. hai =P there were about 10 other co ops, and only 2 girls including me. sad huh? and not one of them is eye candy haha but considering i'm working in the computer engineering department of Sun, it's expected.

the atmosphere in the office seems a lot more serious than my last term ( and not to mention more crusty and old looking ), no more comfy couches and bell express vu sattelite t.v., no more pool table, and my manager isn't going to be as fun as Kaitlyn =/ and we came just when the cut backs were in effect so no more free juice, sodas, fruit, first day welcome lunches for the co ops and any other perks i was spoiled with at Sympatico-Lycos =( and to top it all off, the firewall won't let me use msn or icq!!!!!!! i guess i'm really going have to do work this term. *sigh*

interesting weekend up in london ;) interesting bbq haha.. as all the lil housewarming parties that the western crew throw every year have been. bodies everywhere. next year we'll know for sure to bring the steam vac. haha. was the first time i had ever prayed to the porcelain gods ( and so silently too as ed complimented ). ;) damn people just kept on feeding me vodka shots like water. heh but none the less, it was fun fun fun! compared to the crap we call housing in 'loo, jay's place was sweeet.

coming home last night from chilling with some of the 'loo peeps, i saw a house just a few blocks from my home surrounded by police tape.

3 teens charged of murder

...just terrible...
