woo woo! agassi, venus, and pete-y advancing with no problems in the US open. today was all about tennis. hit a few good rallies with an old team mate from highschool this morning as well. anyway, while i was enjoying the games on t.v., my parents were organizing the seating arrangements for my brother's wedding in the next year. became quite the heated arguement at times trying to decide who to keep on the list and who not to. soon enough conversation shifted to me. i'm sure we've all started thinking about it since we hit the twenties club. the lecture sort of went like this ( in cantonese of course ) :..
so, any boys after you in waterloo? ( any potential son-in-laws? )
you should marry a chinese man ( so his side of the family will pay for the wedding ).
mom and dad put the most money into you so you can have a good education, and a good job ( and a rich husband ).
don't be picky like your sister. or you will be thirty and still living at home too. men can wait, women can't. ( start looking. nobody will want you when you're too old )
hai...mah fan
i don't write as much i used to. probably losing my audience now too haha. who still reads my crap anyway? besides the obvious few that is. i guess these few days have been uneventful. haven't been going out much either. i guess i'm just feeling lazy like that. basically the same deal everyday. wake up, eat, maybe play a round of tennis, eat some more, watch some t.v., download some thundercats episodes ( the good ol days ^^ ), and did i mention eat? =P my appetite has increased considerably since i've been home. eating till i'm about to bust a gut and having snacks in between meals. yes, this lil oinker can feel the blubber collecting around the tummy now. hahah. alrite alrite. i'm exaggerating. but i swear it's getting a little more rounder. heh i just feel so incredibly lazy. all i want to do is sleep. ( and eat ). oh where oh where has all my energy gone? i can't believe i'm saying this, but, i can't wait till work starts so i can get my lazy ass up and about. but first, spending the weekend partyin' it up in london. i've already got a head start on that beer belly =P
odd thing happened today. was like deja vu. felt like summer of gr 12 all over again ( or was it 11? well whatever.. someone's b-day ). feeling a little big uneasy yet again.
what is it with guys and cars? i swear they treat it better than they do their own girlfriend at times. and i hate those damn loud mufflers. anyway had an interesting evening out. where a simple outting to a movie with a friend turned into a bitch fest with his girlfriend on the phone ( MY cell... ) in a McD's parking lot. they were yelling and cussing. and so he hangs up on her. whoop di doo. what happens next? she starts calling MY cell ( damn call display, shoulda *67-ed it ) till there was no tomorrow. he tells me not to pick it up. but it just keeps on coming. and of course, she calls his pager till it blows up with messages. so he turns off his pager and i turn off my cell so we can enjoy the movie. nice couple huh? both chronics as well. "oh how romantic! let's get blitzed together!" i told him, if he had ever spoke to me the way he spoke to his girlfriend on the phone, i would never speak to him again. his excuse was that she was being unreasonable and impossible. i don't know what to believe. but in anyway, whether it be bad boyfriend or super possessive girlfriend ( she probably hates my ass now for not answering the phone. i could careless really. ), i hate being put in that kind of situation where spending some time with a friend puts me on the bad side of their girlfriend. this is not the first time.
omg... i can't believe it. aaliyah was killed in an airplane crash. frig. so young.
u remind me of a girl, that i once knew..
FOUR AND HALF HOURS of twister karoake with my 'loo family. sorry for being a mic hog puahaha. my voice is gonna sound horrible tomorow. but it was damn good fun =) gonna miss all you leaving for school and work.
fingers are getting all blistered up. but it's only the beginning. so far i can sort of play good riddance, disarm, a lil bit of more than words, and some church song i learned awhile back. soon... very soon, i'll be jammin' aww yea.. =P
well.. i'm back!!! new york was fun!!! but was damn tiring and looooong ass, back-aching bus rides. the bus tour is extremely rushed. gave us only 2 hrs to eat and shop at jersey gardens! are u friggen nuts?! the largest mall in new jersey. definitely would need the whole day. but ahh well, we inhaled our dinner and went straight to the designer stores. afterwards, it was off to our rooms at the marriott to party with oliver and wendy. puahaha... nearly bust a gut laughin' all night =P
the next day, the tour guide woke us up at 5:30 am! and then took us to wall street at about 6. from then, we separated from the tour and roamed around manhattan ourselves. we were 3 very tired chinese people walking the streets of NY with nothing to do. chilled and talked at this nice, relaxing 2 level cafe waiting for the stores to open at 11! ack. one thing i noticed, the streets are diiirrrrrttty, and smelly and the buildings look so old and spray painted with grafitti. n.y.p.d. boys on every corner. when the stores finally opened, we went and did some mad shopping! we must have spent a good hour or more at united colors of benetton. my goodness.. i came out of bennetton with a sweatshirt, a sweater, a shirt, and a nice skirt for less than $100 canadian! ain't no way in hell you can do that here! ;) i was seriously likin' the no-tax deal down there. oh mangs, if i had thousand bucks to spend in NY =P~.... no more skipping to the sales racks at DKNY, A|X, Banana Rep., H&M... ^^ but dayamn.. cost of food there is up the roof. by the end of the day we were so exhausted and our legs were killing us. walked probably more than 40 blocks from wall street to times square. times square looked amazing at night. gigantore lit signs, t.v. screens, and giant cup noodles and coke bottles everywhere and the streets crowded with people. too bad the trip had to end so soon. =/ can't wait till we get the pictures developed! get them scanned and posted up as soon as possible!
frig, i can't believe i gained 5 lbs in 4 days... i've turned into an eating machine. b'anyway, i'm off, gonna go hit some balls at one of those double decker driving ranges!
haven't written for awhile. not much has happened. just chilling now that i'm back in Toronto. funny thing is, coming home, the people i see first are the waterloo peeps! not that i'm complaining. u all are like family! you guys kept me sane. =) was crazy exhausted the first few days back. maybe making up for all that lost sleep wasn't such a great idea. felt so weak and tired and had a massive headache.
got back all my marks! i must say i am pretty surprised at the results. was pretty darn lucky. happy i passed cs246 with a 65!! woo! that course was a bitch right from the start. but i still managed to pull off a decent average in the end. aww yea.. good thing for our bird elective eh jen, joan? =P heh.
anyway, had quite the adventure with oliver, wendy and matt last night. ahah all i have to say is, i couldn't stop friggen laughing. ;)
welps, jetting off to new york tomoro! all packed and ready to go. got the snacks, the booze, US dollars, camera, camcorder... gonna be a memorable road trip! be back with all the details tuesday. =P
it's so good to be home...
why do i always find myself trying to find things to waste my studying time? haha, damnit. but whatever, i so can't wait till i'm out of this hell hole and back home. can't wait to go on our road trip to new york! yay!! and shop my head off. and lots of other things i plan to do before i start my work term at Sun.
yesterday, the tournament was awesome. ( even tho park and i were seated directly behind the back board ) Vince was awesome ;) just anything he does, it's just so explosive. not like any dunker in the NBA. some other noteable mentions that showed up at the charity tournmanet were Zo, ray allen, mo pete, JYD, alvin williams ( pulling some and1 moves.. hee ) and even Shaq showed up to watch. pure dunks and scoring, and almost non existent D. AHHa.. the scores at the end of the 4th almost hit 170! craziness. Vince is the man. the center of attention of Toronto now. glad he'll be around another 7 years!
anyway, after the game, park showed me around Burly. HAhaha.. determined to prove that his hometown wasn't the trailer-park-redneck-hicktown that we joke about. it was pretty nice and very very peaceful. took a deep breath and smelled... "nothing". ;) not one asian on the streets and liqour stores on just about every corner. haha. sweeeet. coming home we took the scenic route back. drove down this smooth, winding and hill-y road lined with trees and no lights. it was really nice, like something out of an old school sega-genesis car racing game i used to play. all it was missing was the techno beats and nitro. haa..
bug is fixed! wuhoo!! so click the lil "comment" link and bitch away y'all! comment count only working for higher versions of IE and NEtscape tho. grrr..
so excited!! i'm going to see Vince Carter today! yay!!!! maybe he'll nod at me again ;) puahahah
shouldn't i be studying?.. blah i don't care!
yay! comments are back! *sort of* but there is a slight bug that i'll have to fix when i have more time or until i can find a better comment system!
if there are no comments posted for an entry, the php script can't recognize that there are no comments available, so there will be several blank comments posted with weird dates "12/31/69 05:00pm" displayed. IGNORE THAT =P and just scroll to the bottom where the text field is. AFTER the first post, everything will be displayed as it normally should.
